In the grain

Last trip up to the farm, I spent an hour or so just wandering around taking snaps of little details. In particular I was looking for nice lines that would also allow me to play with the depth of field.

I ended up coming away with a number of nice shots that seemed to fall into 2 categories: wood and metal.

Here’s the first set: wood.

I particularly liked the play on DoF in this one. Because of the angle and the varying depth, two distinct areas are in focus.

This was an odd angle. I was pressed right up against the barn, looking straight up.

A nice transitional image with both wood and metal. 🙂

  1. Mikey – I love the first shot how the centre in-focus area is ahead of the outside in-focus areas. I love playing around with depth-of-field as it works well with all types of subjects. You’ve really hit the nail on the head… I know, that was lame. Good pics! ~KC
