Another shot from my trip to Killarney.
Once the sun rose a little higher and the light was too harsh to shoot the grander landscapes, Wayne and I retreated to our campsite for some food and planning. After a little sitting around we noticed the light streaming in through the trees, highlighting all sorts of beautiful details on the forest floor. So we grabbed our gear and wandered into the woods behind the tents for about an hour or so.
What I like about this shot is the clarity of the detail. Nothing overly spectacular, except I shot it with a wide angle lens at f5.7. I got right down on the stomach in the dirt and had my 18-55mm kit lens only a few inches from this little guy. I love that lens – it is surprisingly flexible and has leant itself to all kinds of creative angles and perspectives. Anyways, I hope you like it too.
