Archives – Day 2

Many people around here are relishing the heat of the present day. I however am not always one of them. I am a spring/fall person mostly, and in a pinch I am often tempted to say I’d take winter over the humid, sweltering summer any time.

The truth is, I love the variety we get here in Ontario. From 30+ degrees C in the summer to darn near -30 in the winter, we tend to see it all around here. Which is awesome. I never get bored! We have hot days and cold beer on the patio, stormy rains, cool days for hiking, and Dairy Queen’s that don’t bother to open for 6 months of the year because it’s so cold and no one wants an ice cream. What more could you want?

Anyhow, on a hot day like to today, it sometimes feels nice to cool down with a wintery photo. This one is of the maple sugar shack at the farm – the place where the super delicious maple syrup comes from. I call it the happiest place on earth! 🙂

  1. Thanks Amber! I love this shot too. My father-in-law says its a calendar shot. They make quite a lot of maple syrup back in that little shack. This year was a slow year, but last year they made just over 1,000 litres! Soooo goood!!

  2. OOOh really? Can you harvest the maple syrup?? You weather range sounds rather nice. Weather makes life interesting. Our weather rarely gets below 4 C in winter, and beyond 23 in summer. lol. Love the shadows in this image. The patterns on the snow are nice.
